Members
Workspace membership gives each teammate the access their role requires. Campaign operators need editing access; administrators manage the business settings, team and billing. A person can hold a different role in each workspace.
Admins manage people in Settings, then Members under Workspace settings.
Pick the right role
Every member holds one of three roles. maxclicks shows the role as a badge next to their name.
| Role | Can do | Seat |
|---|---|---|
| Member | Everything you work with day to day: contacts, objects, schemas, attributes, segments, broadcasts, templates, emails, domains, senders, forms, workflows, tags and topics. | Paid |
| Admin | Everything a Member can do, plus billing, integrations, and adding, removing and re-roling people. | Paid |
| Non-paid Admin | Read workspace information and manage billing, integrations and permitted membership roles. Cannot create or edit campaign content, execute ordinary write operations or use maxinja chat. | Free |
There is no read-only role: anyone you add can either edit or administer. If you only want someone to handle the invoice, make them a Non-paid Admin.
Seats are billed per space, so someone with a paid role in three spaces costs three seats. See billing for what a seat costs.
Invite someone
Open the invite dialog
Click Invite team members on the Members page.
Paste the addresses
Send Invite to ... takes as many addresses as you like, separated by commas, spaces or new lines.
Choose a role
Invite as offers the roles you are allowed to hand out. Non-paid Admins can create Members and other Non-paid Admins, but not full Admins.
They join
If the address already belongs to a maxclicks user, they are added to the space at once. A new address gets an invitation email instead, and the link in it is good for 14 days.
A person consumes a seat when they become a member with editing access. Membership and billing synchronization are separate: an added member can have access even if the billing update needs another attempt. Monthly quantities adjust with the team; annual additions are prorated to the prepaid term and reductions apply at renewal. See billing.
maxclicks accepts work email addresses only. An invitation to a gmail.com, outlook.com, icloud.com or similar address is rejected with "Please use your work email address." Invite people at their company address.
Change or remove someone
The menu at the end of each row offers Make Member, Make Admin, Make Non-paid Admin (whichever of these your own role allows) and Remove from space.
Three things it will not let you do:
- Change or remove your own membership. Ask another admin.
- Remove or demote the last admin. A space always keeps at least one.
- Hand out a role above your own. A Non-paid Admin cannot promote anyone to full Admin, and cannot change or remove a full Admin.
The search box filters by name or email, and Filter narrows the table to one or more roles, which is the fast way to audit who is costing you a seat.
Review access before assigning work
A Non-paid Admin is suitable for finance or administrative oversight, but does not have the write permission required to start or chat with maxinja—even for a question phrased as read-only. Give campaign operators the Member role, and use Admin when they also need business administration.
A role is workspace-specific. Review the selected workspace before inviting people, generating a key or changing billing. Removing access does not undo messages sent, records changed or published automation already configured in that workspace.
Each paid seat carries its own AI credits
On Premium, every paid seat comes with a monthly credit allowance of its own for that person's maxinja work, and a Non-paid Admin gets none. Billing has the amount and the order the credits are spent in.
API keys carry their owner's access
An API key belongs to one person and works in one space, and it can do exactly what its owner can do. There are no narrower scopes.
Keys are issued and revoked in the app under Settings, Developers, API keys. Creating one needs the Member or Admin role: a Non-paid Admin cannot.
"You can only see this key once, store it safely." maxclicks keeps only a hash of it, so if you lose the key, delete it and create a new one. The Code column in the table afterwards is a masked preview, never the key itself.
See authentication for using a key against the API.
